Estonia Specifications

The actions in Estonia pianos not only use Renner (from Germany) parts, but they are actually made by Renner in Germany - a distinction only premiere European pianos have. One manufacturer charges thousands of dollars more to have Renner make the action of a particular model, versus their same model which simply employs Renner parts.

Even a layperson can appreciate the detail Estonias are given. Other manufacturers' decals found on the piano's fallboard have simplified through the years to make applying them easier. Many have even gone to actual "decals" rather than inlaid brass letters to announce their name on the piano. Estonia continues the old tradition of inlaying their intricate logo in solid brass on the fallboard. All Estonias also have a lid lock wheel on the sides of their pianos (typically found only on concert grands) and unique, stylish dual brass casters. The finishes are fantastic (the Euro-satin is a must-see), and they all come with artist benches - a testimony to the clientele Estonia understands it attracts.

Estonias share many similarities with Bosendorfer, such as how the pianos are built around the key beds. The keybeds of all models are let into the inside of the rims rather than attached to the bottom, providing solid and stable construction. The only other piano constructed this way is the Bosendorfer. A Cordogan's representative can show other unique technical features reserved by upper-tier European piano makers such as Estonia that help to form the tone, touch and strength of these pianos.

Estonia is also the only piano company in the world owned and operated by concert pianists. Dr. Indrek Laul and other pianists on the Estonia staff play every instrument for 2 hours before shipping. This is the final step in the Estonia production process and allows technicians to make alterations to the instrument according to the needs of the player. This kind of craftsmanship, where musician and technician work hand-in-hand to construct the piano, is unavailable in any other upper-tier European piano.
